Mega Pro Protein Powder by Next Generation
Q. I know what protein powder is, but what makes MEGAPRO different?
A. MEGAPRO is one of the only SUSTAINED RELEASE Protein powders on the Australian market. This means that when consumed, the user gets an immediate release of protein into the system (approx, 50%) and then a sustained ongoing release of up to 4 hours later. Basically MEGAPRO has been designed by NEXT GENERATION in order to take the confusion out of what protein powder you should be having. Instead of a protein for immediately after your workout, one for night-time and maybe one for pre-workouts, MEGAPRO can be utilised at anytime of the day for an immediate protein infusion and a sustained/constant release of protein into the system,
Q. How does MEGAPRO work?
A. MEGAPRO contains the highest quality blends which consist of Whey protein Isolate and whey protein concentrate. With this combination, MEGAPRO initially allows for immediate protein release and slower protein release over time. MEGAPRO also contains dextrose, pre-digested peptides for easy absorption and also comes in three great tasting flavours, chocolate, vanilla and the very popular choc-mint.
Q. You mentioned highest quality blends, how can I find out if I am getting a good quality protein or not?
A. A commonly asked question and there are two general rules that you need to apply. Firstly the protein powder should mix easily with just a few shakes of a shaker. If you have to blend it or shake it vigorously for longer than a few seconds, that means that it is not breaking up effectively and as a general rule is of poor quality. Secondly a protein powder that gives the user a lot of wind or repeats on them is also one that is of poor quality.
Q. Why is dextrose included?
A. Protein powder is not transported very effectively without a small amount of dextrose (best sugar for transporting protein). Particularly after a workout it is essential that the body gets some form of sugar and with dextrose blended into MEGAPRO you can be assured that you are getting one of the highest quality blends to maximise your recovery immediately, A protein powder with pure protein simply doesn't get the job done at the same rate,
Q. I train with weights four and sometimes five days per week along with three 30 minute sessions of cardio, how much protein do I need?
A. For a trained athlete you would need approximately 2 grams of protein per kilo of bodyweight. If you weigh 80kgs you will need approximately 190 grams of protein per day.
Keep in mind that the average person's body can only utilise a certain amount of protein in one serve, to keep your protein intake somewhere around the 26 gm to 35 gm mark per meal should do the trick. If you are good with your food and eat regularly then you may find the need for only one or two protein shakes in the day. However if your nutrition is poor and you know that you are not getting the nutrients to assist your progress then you may need two to three protein shakes a day and even more if your lifestyle is such that eating is not a priority.
